D’Argental glass originated from the the town of that name in the province of Lorraine in France. The skill involved in producing cameo glass to the quality that D’Argental has become famous for was intricate, precise and organised. The name synonymous with d’Argental glass is Paul Nicolas (1875-1952) who originates from the Ecole de Nancy designers. His pieces are high quality, highly collectible and becoming increasingly more difficult to find. The detail of the decoration, fire polishing and design is second to none and each and every piece comes to life when exposed to light. I have been lucky enough to sell some of Paul Nicolas’ creations in my store (see images) and if you are interested in purchasing a piece of this incredible glass please contact me and i will try to source one for you.
